The differences between the “General “ and the ”hakeem”

(An analysis by TC – Houston, Texas)

The ‘General’  since his arrival he promised the following major changes:

·       Fight Corruption

·       Re-capture what the Christians had lost over the past 30 years

·       Re-affirm National Reconciliation

·       Defend and protect the Christians

·       Bring back to the Christians their dignity

·       Alter (so as not to say remove) the Taef  accord in regards to the Christians powers in ruling the country.

·       Make changes to the elections rules and remove restrictions where Christians were elected by Sunnis, thus, remaining under their ‘thumb’.

·       Bring TRUE Christian representation to the assembly house (deputies and representatives)

·       Give the president enough ministers to have a ‘say’ in the government.

·       Give (with all fairness) all parties enough seats in the government to obtain fair and just government decisions.

·       Obtain the Christians right to return to their villages currently under the ‘Druze’ Walid Jumblat war lord control.

·       Maintain Lebanon to all  Lebanese

·       Defend the Armenians rights in true representations

During the past three years and since the ’General’ major win in the 2005 elections and then in the Metn and also in Baabda (Pierre Dakash) he assembled a coalition made of 23 deputies.

The ‘General’ and as we say in slang ‘struck gold’ when he signed an agreement with Hezbollah and formed another coalition with the Shiia’s of Lebanon.

By doing so, he provided ALL CHRISTIANS and not only the Maronites a true power of protection ( an umbrella) by allying with the most powerful Lebanese faction.

The ‘General’ alliance was proven several times and especially the events that preceded the Doha agreement. Sunnis were disarmed and delivered to the army along with their nests in Beirut. So they did in the mountains and with the war-lord Walid Jumblat. Not one face-slap nor a gunshot happened in any Christian sector or village.

The ‘General’ success in Doha was expressed by the Qatari prince when he told Aoun it was because of him and his sacrifices that they reached this agreement. He congratulated him and thanked him.

Let’s review a few of those successful Doha accord:

·       Recovered 7 out of 8 Christian seats in east Beirut. The only one is the Protestant seat that remained under Sunni control sectors.

·       7 Christian seats will be elected by Christian majority votes. It does not matter who wins, Kataeb, Ahrar, Kowat, or Aounist as long as they are elected by true Christian votes that represent those sectors.

·       The south remains the same where Jezzin and other Christian villages elect their own.

·       The north was another major success. 1960 electoral sectors were brought back as the 1960 election law. This means the liberation of the Christian villages from under the Sunni domination of Tripoli and Dannieh.

·       The Metn and Kesrouan remains in Christian electoral sectors

·       Jbeil, Batroun, etc…remains the same

·       Baabda – Alley we will see new coalitions which will give the ‘General’ more deputies.

·       Zahle and the Bekaa will remain under 1960 elections law and so is Baalbeck and Hermel.

·       Obtained three (3) seats in the government belonging to the president for him to have a say and power within the government

·       Obtain the ‘Denying-vote’ to the opposition preventing and not allowing the Sunnis and others a run-away government.

·       Re-iterating the army’s commitment in support of the ‘mokawama’ resistance.

In other words.. Christian dignity was restored. Dignity that was taken away 1in 1986 by the Taef accord orchestrated by Major Christian leaders and Sunnis and the American administration giving a 30-years mandate to Syrian to occupy Lebanon.

The ‘General’ ended all this!

Now let’s take a brief look at what the ‘hakeem’ had said and not said. What he did and not do:

• ·       Absolutely rejected the ‘dastour’ constitution modifications in bringing General Suleiman to power. LOOK WHAT HAPPENED (he lost)
•                   We (14th of March) will never give them the government denying vote. LOOK WHAT HAPPENED. They did!
• ·       He signed the Doha accord with ‘reservations’  I leave this to your interpretation
• ·       He refused to have any negotiations any more between Lebanese factions
• ·       He refused to conduct negotiations outside Lebanon (LOOK WHAT HAPPENED – he went and signed.
• ·       He totally refused the bringing-back and the re-implementation of the 1960 elections law. LOOK WHAT HAPPENED…. (he lost again)
• ·       He predicted the Doha negotiations will fail… LOOK WHAT HAPPENED (he failed)
• ·       Remember when he said: (They shut down the airport road.. we can open it and open it’s father’s father) a Lebanese term.
• ·       The ‘hakeem’ went as far as asking for an ARAB PEACE KEEPING FORCE.. isn’t this what we had in the 80’s? and he fought them!
• ·       His failings in college elections is a live proof of his failure as a Christian leader

Now and because they are SORE LOSERS they are saying that Aoun was paid off a large sum of money to accept this deal....

IMAGINE THIS?  and HOW LOW THEY CAN GET?

They will continue with their insults until they lose all their supporters and they will find themselves all alone. Scary hein?
